The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is a national, professional, non-profit making society aiming to advance the cause of technical education.

National Institute of Technology, Calicut and MTI, Thrissur have been awarded the best student’s chapter award 2007, of Kerala section. The award was presented at the 10th ISTE Student’s National convention at the G-Mallikarjuna Rao Institute of Technology at Rajam in Andhra Pradesh on Oct 5 and 6, 2007. The selection was made on the basis of the activities carried out during the year. The award consists of a medallion and a certificate.

Anu. C. J, 3^rd Semester Electronics and his team consisting of Jovins C. Varghese, 3^rd Semester Electrical and Sharan Gopal 3^rd year Civil were awarded the 1^st prize for their project on ‘Digital petrol to gas converter’ at the 10^th National Student’s convention at G-Mallikarjuna Rao Institute of Technology at Rajam, Andhra Pradesh. The participants in the competition were from among various Engineering College and Polytechnics in India numbering 180.
